Course Goals
Students will continue working on reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills as in English 9, English 10, and English 11. Students will read and write in a variety of styles and for a variety of audiences through individual, small group, and whole-group activities and assignments, while focusing on global and contemporary issues in World Literature. This class may culminate in a student-designed senior project.

Second Semester: Nickel and Dimed (anchor text), Great Gatsby (anchor text), People Like Us (linking text), Class Matters (linking text), 30 Days With Morgan Spurlock (linking text), Encounters With Class (linking text), “Invisible Web” resources (linking text), Various Documentaries, updated as needed (linking text), Ongoing grammar and vocab instruction
